Now here is what the ladies at Wicked Reads Review Team have to say about it

Ascenison

From best selling and award winning author Stacey Rourke comes the heart-pounding continuation of the acclaimed Gryphon Series. The turning point of the Gryphon saga is at hand … Battle looms. Three unstoppable forces prepare to clash in a colossal explosion that could wipe Gainesboro off the map. Fate and a sacred calling have landed nineteen year old Celeste Garrett in the middle with nowhere to run. Her trust wavers as she uncovers dark secrets of the Council, powerful enough to test her loyalty and turn her against those she swore to protect. Playing to the longing of her heart, a malevolent enemy uses her weakness against her to form an alliance. With the trumpets of war about to sound, which side will the Conduit choose, and who will be left standing?

The gang has all be though so much and now one of them is married! And Cee gave up her love to save him and still do her duty. Kendi is back to normal YAY! Got to love her, she sweet and really gives her heart to everyone. Cee has lost the 1st member of her team and it really is hitting her hard. The evil Gnome is gone and I think no one will ever pick on Cee for her fear again. So at this point what can go wrong…Well looks like everything? Everything she believed about why she was chosen, who she really is, and who she serves is turned upside down in the most dramatic fashion possible.  What is a young conduit to do? Well she does what no one thought she would and makes her own path. A path that has great cost but in the end well you will have to read the book to see if pays off or not! It was sad to say Goodbye to the Gang. But there journey has ended. This book was the perfect ending I will say that. Another 5 star book for this author.

The Fourth installment of the Gryphon series is an amazing journey filled with SHOCKING plot twists that had me cursing all kinds of unrepeatable words. The Garret family is on their own relying on questionable allies to battle the Countess. Will these acts be in their best interest or will it turn and bite them in the rump? Ascension is filled with action, drama, humor, Strong female characters and an ending to have you clamoring for the next. Ascension is by far the best book in the series and I cannot wait to see in which direction Stacey Rourke, will take this fabulous cast of characters.

I think Stacey Rourke has outdone herself with this one.  I thought the second book, Embrace, was my favorite but I was wrong.  Ascension is so well written, a page turner for sure.  I loved diving deeper into that world, finding more out about the Gryphon, the Dark Army, Celeste and Caleb.   I would love to go into so many detail at the end, but that would be a huge spoiler!!   All I will say when I read Ascension, I found myself getting sucked into the story.  Reading that last sentence was disappointing….disappointing that it was over.  This one definitely calls for a re-read!!

First off I would just like to say that this have become one of my favourite series that I have read, but this book is the best of the bunch I enjoyed it so much. I mean where do I start….

Well like all the other books this one starts where the last has finished Celeste has a choice to make trust Barnabus or try to say Alec and get Caleb (swoon) back herself. Oh a Rowen is back also yaay, I love him, Celeste not so much she just wants to punch his face in; you can’t really blame the girl if you have read the last book you will know why. He vows that he will be at her side now no matter what and also to the end. After Sophia’s funeral Celeste, Gabe, Keni and Grams all get quite a shock and Celeste and Gabe walk out which makes them traitors to the cause. They continue to train and the celeste makes a little mistake that brings the battle to the forefront. Will Celeste get her team back? Will everyone survive? More importantly anyone get a happily ever after? Well you will habe to read the book to find out.

I am actually sad to see this series end and I am hoping that Stacey will continue this series in the future (fingers crossed) I have loved every second of this series and every book has truly deserved its five stars that I have awarded J

Ascension is the fourth book in the Gryphon series and has so many shocking (yes, really shocking) twists and turns, I could barely keep up.  I liked this book better than Sacrifice mainly because I felt Celeste is finally growing up and taking charge.  In prior books, Celeste just accepted her fate and did what she thought she had to do, but not so in Ascension.  In the first of many revelations, Celeste finally learns why the Countess is determined to destroy the Gryphon.  This revelation and several others all occur within the first third of the book (no spoilers) and finally, Celeste starts to become the heroine I hoped she would be.  Although she can’t control fate, and she can’t control all the outside influences, she can control how she deals with her life and how the new revelations affect her and her family.  Celeste starts learning to trust her intuition and question her circumstances.  Finally, because Celeste begins to realize not everything is as it seems, she learns that right and wrong are not so black and white.

My favorite characters in the first three books were Rowan and Gram, and Ascension has me loving them even more.  Gram continues her crazy antics and gave me a few laughs while supporting Celeste in a way only Gram can do.  Celeste is still pining away for Caleb, and I feel I know him better in this book, but I’m still hoping Celeste ends up with Rowan.  Stacey Rourke made it clear from the beginning that Celeste’s true love is Caleb, but I question it more and more in each book because in my opinion, Rowan’s character seems the better developed character of the two romantic interests (of course, this may be a purposeful development to keep readers confused or it could be as simple as I’m just a sucker for a Scottish accent).

Ascension is a strong continuation in the Gryphon series and ends with a cliffhanger that had me yelling at my kindle.  By book 4, many authors are getting stale and repetitive, not so with Stacey Rourke and the Gryphon series.  If anything, the further into the series we go, the more intricate the story becomes.  I give this book a solid 4 stars and hope Stacey Rourke writes quickly because I can’t wait to see what happens to Celeste, Gabe, Kendall, Gram and of course, Caleb and Rowan.

What an amazing read! Just when I thought this story couldn’t get better-Celeste and the Gryphon Crew are back in a BIG way! Stacey Rourke continues to out do herself. This story is packed with twists, turns and lots of emotion-I just couldn’t put it down! In true Gryphon form you’re left with a cliffhanger that makes you inpatient for the next installment. You can judge this series by its new covers, as they are awesome! I truly enjoy this series!

Awesome series!

This was an excellent continuation of the Gryphon series. In the fourth book, Celeste has grown and continues to learn more about the past history of the Gryphon. There are many sad moments that invite the reader to look at things from a different way as Celeste struggles with deciding what is right and whose side to join. Though it all lies on her shoulders as the Conduit, she learns that she needs to believe in her friends and family and that they are there to help her as well.
I loved how the book had just enough romance to keep the reader wondering, but still frustrating enough because Celeste is in such a position to decide who she wants to be with.
This book had a great deal of action and heartache in it and it brings the reader even further into the world of the Gryphon. It was exciting to see things from the spirit plane and what is awaiting them at the end of their journey.
I especially loved how the book leaves the reader wondering what will happen with Celeste now that the war is over.

Book 3 yes we are apporaching the finsh line.

It’s hard to believe that Book 3 day is here. Stacey Rourke week is almost up but she will soon have plenty more for us to read. I really do love this book. We finally get to see good girls go bad and bad girls go good. Plus I will never look at Gnomes the same way again, why to know why they read the book. This in a lot of way is my personal favorite of the series. Cee makes some major character growth, Kendi well I will let you see for yourself and there is wedding. Nothing says battle of Good vs Evil like a wedding I am right? lol But this when I fell hard for Rowan and though still like Caleb Rowan is my newest book boyfriend. I have not BF in real life so I figure why not a book one. I am happy that there are some sidekick books all about Rowan that I have put on my Kindle reading list as request for my upcoming birthday. (December 17th if you are wondering) Now on with the new cover reveal and of course the hard working ladies of Wicked Reads Review Teams Reviews.

Book 3 in the series

Book 3 in the series

Celeste Garrett has finally found a happy balance in her life as the Chosen One, thanks in large part to a certain hunky Irishman. But if there’s any lesson she should heed since receiving her calling it’s that everything can change in the blink of an eye. Soon a terrible new threat, unlike anything she’s ever encountered, causes her to make a gut-wrenching choice that will strip her of someone she holds dear.

As much as she’d like to have a pity party for one, there’s no time for that now because wedding bells are ringing in Gainesboro! In between dress fittings and rehearsal dinners Celeste will have to fend off attacking demons and leering pirates. As if the Dark Army wasn’t scary enough our heroine is faced with the horrifying trauma of attending a bachelorette party with her mom and watching Grams do Jello shots. Is a walk down the aisle even possible for a member of the Garrett family when the Dark Army is out to destroy them? More importantly, will the Dark Army Glee Club sing at the reception?

Raise your glass to the happy couple, and get ready for a wedding…Conduit-style.

Well Stacey Rourke has done it again this book is truly amazing…

Again this book starts where the last one finishes, Celeste has a new sprit guild… Bernard the gnome (we all know how she loves them) things are going well with Celeb and she is settling into her new life with being the Conduit and having a boyfriend what could go wrong? Well as the countess is a delightful lady she decides to mess with celeste in the biggest way possible which in turn gets Celeste to make the hardest decision of her life.

This book is full of twists and turns weddings teen angst at its best and a grumpy pirate you just have to love it… this is a great series it is so well written that I literally cannot gush enough about it, Stacey Rourke has become a favourite of mine after reading this series. I also give this instalment of the series *

5 out 5
Just when I thought I couldn’t like this series any more-Stacey Rourke has out done herself with Sacrifice. The way she tells Celeste’s story, I thought became an Empathe. I laughed, cried, laughed again and at times my heart sank for Celeste and the Gryphon Crew. If you are not reading the Gryphon Series-you should be.

Stephaine

This book had me on such a rollercoaster ride, I was so emotional at some parts.  Sad, angry (how could she moments!) confusion, trying to figure out who was good, who was bad.  The action and suspense at every turn had me turning page after page making this a “half day” read!  Throw in a wedding to add to the drama with Grams cracking me up again, she is a hoot! If the last line doesn’t have you begging for book four…you’re nuts! Can’t wait!

Shannan

This is by far my favorite book in the series thus far.  First off, I never was bothered by gnomes.  I often thought them cute and super adorable to have decorating one’s lawn.  But, after a scene in this book, I am not sure if I will ever look at them the same again.  I am getting chills now as I remember it!

My heart broke for Celeste in this book and I think Stacey Rourke did a wonderful job depicting the inner strength Celeste has.  At first I had to think, why would Celeste agree to this?  But, then in true Conduit form, her inner strength and determination to defeat evil as well as her love for Caleb drove her to make a tough decision.   I know there will be more to this in the future and I sincerely hope love wins.  Celeste deserves it!

I loved getting to know Rowan more in this book and my heart yet again broke, but for him this time.  Seeing Alec again was creepy as all you know what, though.  The way his character has changed—evolved, has been quite dramatic.

I cannot wait for the fourth book in this series!

5 Stars

Sarah

Let me just say that I love this book, I want my own Rowan yeah Caleb the good demon blah blah blah nothing against his demon hotness. However, Rowan is a free demon with pirate blood HELLO can we say hmmm yes sir, while giving great comment such as ‘Sorry, mate. I’ve tried the hero thing before. Gave me the hives. I think I’m allergic.” Or better yet “I hang you all too long and I may catch morals” Lines that are just so funny but at the same time at odds with his actions and is helping the good side make me love him and the books all the more. (Stacey please make a book about Rowan own little drunken adventures). As I write this I am not even all the way though the book so back to see what the great ones end up doing and how they save the day , world, and other panel of existence all while dealing with a wedding, budding courtships and heartbreak for little home coming queen Keni(I personal blame the cutesy pet names) Right now my hear breaks for Cee Cee, the choices she faces, the way the everything seems to balance on her shoulder and she just can’t get one little break, I mean even Buffy got hottie Angel and Spike breaks. But every time you think there is a break coming here comes evil Countess to mess it up. Cee Cee has more heart and strength than me that is for sure. As I enter the end I don’t know rather to chain Rowan up and beat him or kiss him until I run out of air. He is a master and making one change emotions like most blink their eyes. And Poor poor Alec what is to become of him, can he be saved, should he be saved, or will the countess take care of him. I have a feeling that will not be in the this book, but a great way to get me ready for the next book. And little miss angel with her emo stage or at least I hope it’s a stage and not something deeper. I find myself at time yelling at CEE CEE using your freaking power to peak and see what is going on it’s not cheating. Darn it all. And the ending OMG OMG OMG! That last sentence has me has sitting on pins and needles for the release of book 4, which is thankful less a month away. Stacey has created a world that you find yourself impressed in and never quite sure who is doing what just like real life. The ones you trust can at times by the snakes and the snakes the ones you should trust. This series is YA but a great read for all ages. And even though I am still upset at Rowan right now I am holding out hope for him.

Jedi Christy

Sacrifice is the third book in the Gryphon series.  I liked this book, but didn’t love it.  I felt like Stacey Rourke was trying to pack too much into the story to move the plot along, but didn’t really develop the characters.  I would like to “feel” one or more of the characters emotions and I just didn’t get that in this book.  There were a few times in Embrace (book two) where I wished Celeste would use her powers as an empath, but the way the author wrote the story in the second book made sense as Celeste felt using her powers was cheating or spying.  I get that, but in this book, Sacrifice, it was downright annoying because some big problems could have been avoided by Celeste either listening to her subconscious or using her powers.  I feel like Celeste is “wimping out” by not using her powers at least a little.  Maybe this is why this series is young adult, because Celeste has not yet learned to trust her intuition.

Now for the parts I really did like.  I LOVED Rowan in this book right up until the end.  I can almost hear his accent as I read his lines and when he is sweet, there is no contest between him and Caleb – Rowan wins hands down!  Gram continues her crazy antics in this book, she is a hoot!  Gram’s love life is better than most of the young people in the book and the wacky things that come out of her mouth are hilarious.  Kendall was much funnier in this book, mostly due to teenage angst and losing her boyfriend (or is it something else)?

Stacey Rourke continues to keep the reader guessing the characters motives.  We’re in book three and the unexpected twists keep coming.  We still don’t know which characters are truly good or evil and trying to figure it all out is part of the fun.

Sacrifice is a good continuation of the series and once again ends with a doozy of a cliffhanger.  I give this book 3.5 stars and can’t wait to see what happens next to Celeste, Gabe, Kendall, Grams and their wild friends and family.  I want some answers in the next book.  Will Celeste finally ask questions about her legacy and the Gryphon?  Will Rowan be back?  Can Celeste find and save Caleb?  Are the Countess and Alec the real enemy?  Will Alaina get reinstated?  Will Kendall get a new boyfriend?

Sacrifice is another action packed, hold on to the edge of your seat ride of a read. Love, heartache, betrayal, and absolutely surprising outcomes fill this wonderful story. Stacey has once again impressed me with her amazing character development. They are well rounded, witty, and quirky and I enjoy it immensely.   I am excited to know that this world is not yet coming to an end and I look forward to the next installment of this YA series.

Embrace

Book 2 in the series

Book 2 in the series

And the week continues here we have book 2 in the series. Embrace and as you can tell by the amazing cover art Gabe is going to be going though some changes! Here some Wicked Reads Reviews

Whether she likes it or not, eighteen year old Celeste Garrett has come to terms with being the Chosen One. She knew having a “normal life” would be tricky, between intense training sessions and epic demonic battles, but she didn’t know at what cost it would come. That is, until a dear friend is harmed by the malicious forces hunting her.

Now, she’d like nothing more than to retreat into a hermit lifestyle to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. But startling revelations, amazing new abilities, and mortifying moments in front of insanely hot guys won’t allow time for that. Soon, Celeste finds herself surrounded by darkness and wondering who she can trust—if anyone.

This is the second book in the gryphon series. It starts up where The Conduit finished and follows the lives of Celeste, Gabe and Kendell as they fall into their lives trying to balance everyday life and fighting evil.  Both Kendell and Gabe have it down but Celeste is struggling after what happened with Alec in the previous book. She has basically given up on having a normal life and is focused on everything chosen one related.  Enter Caleb the tall dark and gorgeous with bad boy looks and Irish accent celeste is drawn to him.

There is also a new evil in town; no one knows what the new evil is or what its plans are… just what poor celeste needs as she is finally embracing life like a normal girl.

Again another superbly written book that kept me turning pages to see what would happen next. The one liners and quick wit in this book had me laughing out loud I really enjoyed this book…Another 5* from me…

I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH READ THIS SERIES YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Awesome sequel!
It offers everything I loved about The Conduit. Stacey Rourke continues the fast and fun pace of the first installment but kicks it into high gear. Full of twists & turns, I found myself saying just “one more chapter”. Staying true to the first, this story ended with another cliffhanger that had me thankful that I already had Sacrifice and didn’t have to wait!

Stephain

I think this has to be my favorite book of the series.  Once Celeste has realized being the Chosen One has its perks and definite draw backs, It was interesting seeing how she learns to deal with her “gifts” and how to survive day to day.  Seeing how Gabe and Kendall embraced who they have become, and how Celeste struggles with it drew me into the storyline.  Great read!

Shannan

The Garette kids continue on their fight against evil in the second book in the Gryphon series.  This time they discover that though they may have defeated one bad guy before, there is a far greater one waiting to attack.  Trust is tested throughout this book as our heroine Celeste tries to discover who is on her side and who is out to get her.

Stacey Rourke continues with her trademark humor for this series and I loved how you could feel how uncomfortable some typical teenager moments were for Celeste.  I loved the new male characters that were introduced as well as new romances that have begun.

Caleb and Rowan were both great new characters that were introduced.  Caleb, oh Caleb—the humor that came out of Celeste’s first interactions with him were priceless.  Who wouldn’t react that way to a dark Irishmen that was flirting with you?

Sarah

First off let me say that this book could not be more perfectly named. Though the storyline you see each character embrace a different accept of themselves and powers. You get loveable character like the Dark Army Glee Club and swoon worthy ones like Rowan and Caleb. I have to say that I really love Kendall with her total fashion obsession and cute little pet names it hard not to. I play on getting this in hard back for my sister as I think there is they are the perfect YA paranormal and I am just starting to get into paranormal and reading in general(she is a teenage) So I feel she will relate the most to Keni. I on the other hand find myself really to Chosen one. Because like her I would aspect my duty but question using my powers unless in a fight every single time, esp if what happened to her Alec happened to some I cared about deeply. The one character that gives a ton of laughs and I wish was in my life is Grams she is awesomeness. Those kids need to learn some things from her. Once again Stacey has given us a book that you will fight yourself to put down once you pick it up. The end is something leaves you hanging which we all love in books because that means that there is more. Well thankful book 3 is already out and so I am off to go start it. Thank You Stacey for giving me a series I can’t seem to put down.

Jedi Christy

Embrace is the second book in the Gryphon series and picks up where the first book left off.  Celeste is trying to adapt to her life as the Conduit while still hoping she can have a “normal” life like her brother Gabe and sister Keni.

Embrace has all the wacky characters I fell in love with in Conduit, but the plot in this book was much more complex than the Conduit.  There were many characters who seemed to have duplicitous motives, so Celeste (and the reader) never knew who was bad and who was good.  Celeste continues to meet demons and finds out that not all demons went over to the dark side willingly and fights her instincts on which demons she can trust.

Embrace is fast-paced and has something for everyone – heroines, heroes, villains, danger, demons, mystery and romance.  For me, the best part of this series continues to be the humor the author uses throughout the book and the unique storyline that focuses on love, trust and the inherent goodness of people.  The book is worth a read just to become acquainted with the Dark Army Glee Club (yep, it’s just what it sounds like) and wild and wacky Grams.

Like the Conduit, Embrace also ends with a cliffhanger, and it’s a doozy, so consider yourself warned.

Embrace is a great continuation of the series.  Stacey Rourke has invented a cast of characters that could keep her fans engrossed and chuckling for years.  I give this book 4 stars and can’t wait to begin book three, Sacrifice.

laurensmom22

All 18-year-old Celeste Garrett wants is to head off to college and make those fun, yet ill-advised, choices college kids are known for. And maybe to spend some time with the hot cameraman she just met. Instead, because of a pact her ancestors made in the 17th century with a mythical creature, she has to save the world.

The Conduit is a thrilling YA story that is an action packed adventure, and starring a wonderfully well-developed cast of characters. I was drawn to the sarcasm and humor that the author timed perfectly in the many different situations the characters faced. The Conduit is a great way to start a series. The plot is well thought out and left me wanting more. A must read for any YA and Adult fans of anything mythical.

Now The wonderful ladies of Wicked Reads where asked to review the book, so we received a copy exchange for HONEST review here is what the 6 ladies plus we all have to say about this book

While normal kids are slamming energy drinks and cramming for exams, Celeste will get her adrenaline rush fighting a fire breathing dragon. She wants to meet friends in the quad to exchange lecture notes, but first she must exchange blows with a shape shifting demon on the rooftop. Life isn’t always fair for a superhero, but at least she doesn’t have to do it alone. With her brother and sister as sidekicks, they alternate between saving lives and getting on each others’ nerves. Together the trio encounters unspeakable odds, mystical forces and comes face-to-face with an image that will haunt them forever—their grandmother in a leopard print bikini.

This book is about Celeste and her journey to becoming the “Chosen one”

Celeste her brother Gabe and her sister Kendall find out that they are basically everyday superheroes and have to save the world from an evil army, why them you say? Well that would be because of an ancient alliance that was made long before they were born. What does it mean for them? Well superpowers and the threat of death every which way they turn…

This is the first book in the gryphon series and shows how the move into their roles of fighters of evil.

Okay time for me to gush… I loved this book and will give it a full wammy of 5* because what was not to love I found it to be a page turner I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next… I was kept interested throughout the whole book and didn’t feel like in faltered one tiny bit. It was written extremely well I also felt that I got to know each of the characters in their own way through the book…

In the YA paranormal genre this has become one of my favorite series

I was instantly hooked!
Stacey Rourke tells a great story full of emotion, danger, refreshing sarcastic humour, and a touch of romance. How could I leave out a zebra print muumuu wearing Gram with a witty sense of humour. The Conduit is a fast paced read with a cliff hanger that had me immediately starting the 2nd novel in the series as soon as I finished.

This book is a great read, something my teenage daughter and I could both enjoy.  Right from the beginning I liked how the characters were written.  I liked watching them evolve throughout the story.   I loved Gabe’s humour, Kendall’s sassy side and Gram’s snarky-ness (is that even a word?  if not it should be just for her!).  Grams cracked me up from the beginning! Seeing how Celeste started the book and the growth she had through till the end had me routing for her.  The paranormal/normal story mix really works in this book.  Its a great read that can be shared with kids and adults.

This was a great introduction to a unique series.  Stacey Rourke has created a story setting that is one of a kind.  This book was a fast paced read and it was funny!  Too often it seems like young adult novels are filled with brooding teenagers and it was a breath of fresh air to read a story that centred on such a strong heroine.  Celeste Garette is funny and takes everything in stride.  I think this book would be a great read for any teenager.

There were super powers, ancient mythical beings, demons, fighting—you name it.  But, what was wonderful is the delivery of all those.  Stacey Rourke brought it all to you with humor via a very determined heroine.

I loved when Celeste’s brother explained why he believed she was the Conduit and not one of the other siblings. 🙂

Be ready to enter the everyday life f the Garnet’s until a nice little wooden idol forever changes their lives. The find out the things that go bump in the night are not as fake as we lead ourselves to believe. They are each bestowed a gift, Kendall aka Wings with cool healing power, well big Gabe gets to turn into a totally cool loin. Cee Cee is the chosen one kinda like Buffy but she get crazy power upgrades at the perfect times. There of course an oversee to help them on the journey. And all while living under the unilmate cool grandma. I like that Cee Cee is not the typical YA Paranormal girl but different and awkward and proud of it. I want a sister like Kendall though her power is kind of cool and so different. I am now off to start Embrace.

The Conduit is labeled Young Adult, but it’s a wacky mix of young adult, fantasy, paranormal, humor and just plain good storytelling that will appeal to young and old.  The premise is unique in that 18 year old Celeste has been chosen as the “Conduit” to a Gryphon (a magical creature in another plane).  Celeste’s 20 year old brother, Gabe, and her 16 year old sister join her Celeste in trying to save the world by fighting demons, beasts and other evil creatures who are trying to end the world.

I don’t read many young adult books, but do read lots and lots of paranormal books and the story is surprisingly unique.  Most paranormal or fantasy books are dark, but although there is violence (after all, they are battling evil creatures including dragons and demons), the book is surprisingly positive.  The three main characters are affectionate and caring, and although they are battling evil, they still manage to care for each other and their family and friends.  This book does end with a cliffhanger, but I knew that going in, so instead of being disappointed, I was ready to start the second book in the Gryphon series,

Gryphon Series Book 1

All 18-year-old Celeste Garrett wants is to head off to college and make those fun, yet ill-advised, choices college kids are known for. And maybe to spend some time with the hot cameraman she just met. Instead, because of a pact her ancestors made in the 17th century with a mythical creature, she has to save the world.

While normal kids are slamming energy drinks and cramming for exams, Celeste will get her adrenaline rush fighting a fire breathing dragon. She wants to meet friends in the quad to exchange lecture notes, but first she must exchange blows with a shapeshifting demon on the rooftop.

“Okay, little side note here. If a psychopathic killer asks if you want to see a trick, say no. That’s the smart thing to do. I, on the other hand, responded, ‘Bring it’.”

Reading, Drinking and Dancing with a Chaser of Snark

Thank you to our Veterans and those men and women who continue to serve in the Armed Forces.

I have written posts about my deep respect for men and women in uniform, as I did not serve.   From family members, including my beloved Hubby, to friends and coworkers, I have known Veterans from too many wars.  They are some of the most incredibly gifted, loyal people, with an enormous capacity for love.  My personal commitment to them, is to continue to shatter stigmas about PTSD and shine a light on the ongoing, immediate need for full medical and psychiatric benefits for all of them, for the rest of their lives.  It is the least our Country can do for the people who sacrifice themselves for us.

Sadly, I have received “private” notes from those who see my progressive views as “unpatriotic” and have questioned my feelings.  To those “people,”…
